Pinnacle Partners in Medicine, Dallas/Fort Worth Leader in Anesthesia and Pain Medicine, Selects Catalis Accelerator™, World's Premiere Graphical Health Record
For Immediate Release
Catalis Showcasing Breakthrough Accelerator at American Academy of Pain Medicine Meeting Today
Austin, TX- February 8, 2007 -- Catalis Inc., the leader in medical informatics technology, today announced that Pinnacle Partners in Medicine, a premier pain management and anesthesia medical practice, has selected the Catalis Accelerator as Pinnacle's electronic medical record system.
We looked at dozens of systems but the Accelerator won our
practice over with its unprecedented combination of medical
sophistication, ease of use,
Jeff Wasserman, M.D. Medical
Director for the Advanced Pain Medicine Division of Pinnacle.
It's just like writing on a patient chart, but now the information
and medical history is immediately stored on the patient database. You
can learn the Accelerator in a day. Every other system we
saw takes months to learn.
Catalis is demonstrating the Accelerator today at the American Academy of Pain Medicine 23rd Annual Meeting in New Orleans' Ernest N. Morial Convention Center.
The agreement between Pinnacle Partners and Catalis calls for 36 doctors and advanced practitioners in the group's pain management practice as well as Pinnacle's back office staff to use the Accelerator.
Accelerator replaces the traditional medical clipboard with tablet PC based software that connects doctors to every aspect of the health care industry. The system requires no typing, and uses patent pending graphical input devices to expedite information flow from doctors into computers. Health professionals are able to handwrite their diagnoses as well as order lab tests, write prescriptions and schedule follow-up visits instantaneously.
In an industry where the usual learning curve for a system is at least six months, it takes an average of just one day to assimilate Accelerator into a practice. Accelerator is compatible with the majority of existing computer systems now installed in medical offices.
Over one hundred Catalis doctors, pharmacists, and software developers
have invested more than 200 man-years in the development of
Accelerator. The system is cryptex and military-grade
encoded,
says Lipscher. Every connection Accelerator makes
is privacy protected. Whether the system is requesting lab work or
reporting billing to an insurer, the transaction is absolutely
safe.
Catalis Inc. is CCHIT Certified℠ for Accelerator version 4.111, for CCHIT Ambulatory EHR 2006.
